Purchasing Associate
Atlantic Beverage Distributors is looking for a Purchasing Associate to join its growing operation.
Responsibilities:
To maintain appropriate inventory levels of perishable product through forecasting and ordering. Appropriate levels should provide enough available product for seasonal trends, promotional periods and incentives, but not create ‘out of stock’ or ‘out of code’ situations caused by having too little or an abundance of product.
Expectations:

Review inventory needs for 60+ suppliers

Forecast future needs by running and reviewing sales reports and analyzing both current and seasonal trends

Create order suggestions and upon approval submit them to suppliers

Alert the category manager of any potential out of stock or out of code situations and work jointly towards a solution
-
Revise incoming purchase orders with any changes needed due to supplier inventory issues or any increases/decreases needed due to new trends and current inventory levels
-
Responsible for system data maintenance in VIP (Vermont Information Processing) software regarding suppliers and items. This includes creating new suppliers as well as creating and maintaining all products in VIP.

Manage state compliance and redemption authorizations for brand labels

Create negative purchase orders for product returns and communicate with all stakeholders to make sure the proper process is followed

Meet with category managers to discuss promotions, launches or other events that would cause fluctuation in demand
-
Work jointly with the category manager and accounts receivable to resolve any invoice discrepancies
-
Facilitate local supplier pickups with our dispatch department
-
Work with Logistics to consolidate the pickup of orders that are in the same geographical area
-
Collaborate with Receiving and the category manager to resolve any inbound issues regarding damages or quantities received
-
